Individual therapy revolves around a healthy and collaborative therapeutic alliance. It helps individuals better understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours and how these impact their daily lives. This increased awareness assists individuals in the development of healthier patterns that better align with personal values and contributes to living a rich and meaningful life. The modalities I practice are evidenced-based and have been found to improve mental health symptoms but anyone can benefit from talk therapy.
Therapy begins with an intake session where you begin to share your story and what brings you to therapy. We will explore what is important to you and collaboratively establish your goals for therapy. We will revisit these goals to track progress and ensure our work is meaningfully contributing to life outside of session.
Therapy sessions are 50 minutes and can be scheduled on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis depending on need or desired frequency. Services are covered by most extended health plans. Given that coverage varies among providers, please check directly with yours to see if you are covered for therapy with a Psychologist belonging to the College of Psychologists of Ontario. I am a registered provider with WSIB and Blue Cross. I accept payment by credit card, cash, and Interac e-transfer.
Sessions can take place in-person or virtually.
Assessment helps gather important information about psychological functioning to establish or clarify diagnosis, provide an understanding of individual strengths and weaknesses, and inform treatment. I offer comprehensive psychological assessments including initial WSIB assessments. Assessment typically includes a lengthy semi-structured interview as well as the completion of a battery of standardized tests.
The fee varies depending on the complexity, purpose and type of assessment. Assessment can only be offered for conditions within my scope of practice. Reach out to consult about whether a psychological assessment is a good fit for you.
